Accessibility
We aim for bluecliff.ai to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This statement covers the website, not the Bluecliff app.
Where we stand
The site is partially conformant. Some parts of the site don't meet WCAG 2.2 AA yet, and we haven't checked others. We know this from our own checks. No outside auditor has reviewed the site.
How we check
These checks run in the Chromium browser on every change to the site.
- At ten widths, from 1280 down to 320 pixels, nothing on the home page scrolls sideways. No text runs over the drawing of the seal.
- The logo stays on screen as you scroll. With reduced motion set on your device, the sun stays still and the logo stays in the top bar.
- The note of the AI mark opens with a mouse, the keyboard or a touch, and stays on screen. The Escape key closes it and leaves the keyboard focus where it was.
- The parts the site takes from our design system (status labels, source captions and the AI mark) are checked with axe, an automated accessibility checker, in light and dark modes. They're also checked for errors in Windows contrast themes, and for sideways scrolling at 375 pixels.
On 14 October 2026 we also ran axe on the home page and on this page, at 1280 and 320 pixels wide. It found no failure of the WCAG A and AA rules it tests. It couldn't measure the contrast of some text on the home page, where the text sits on a gradient or over a drawing. This run isn't automatic yet.
Automated checks find only some problems.
What we haven't checked
- No person has gone through the site with a screen reader, or with the keyboard alone.
- We haven't checked the site with larger text set in the browser, or with wider spacing between letters, words and lines.
What doesn't work well yet
- In Windows contrast themes, the Bluecliff logo in the top bar keeps its brand colours, so it can be hard to see. We're making it switch to a single colour in those themes. Tracked as BLU-667.
- Nothing checks the contrast of text on the site's own background colours on every change. They're the evening colours at the top of the home page and the dark part at its end. We're adding axe to the site's automatic checks. Tracked as BLU-88.
